Joseph Smith is a post-doctoral research fellow at the Penn Center for Mental Health and Community Behavioral Health (CBH). Joseph received his BA in Psychology, BS in Molecular Biology, and MPH in Health Policy and Management from Kent State University. In 2018, Joseph received his PhD in Health Services Research from the University of South Florida. Joseph collaborates with his mentors, Drs. Christina Kang-Yi and David Mandell, and CBH to rigorously evaluate behavioral health programs in Philadelphia. Joseph research interests include population health management, utilizing data science methods in behavioral health research, and defining value in behavioral health services.
