Saida Heywood, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Saida Heywood is a licensed clinical social worker and member of the collaborative care research study team evaluating collaborative care models for integrating buprenorphine treatment in primary care for patients with opioid use disorders and mental health conditions since 2020. Led by Dr. David Mandell, Dr. Hillary Bogner, and Dr. Kyle Kampman Saida is responsible for supporting and coordinating the mental and physical health care of assigned patients in conjunction with the patient’s medical and behavioral health providers. Saida’s role also provides brief behavioral interventions using evidence-based practices, and patient education about common mental health and substance use disorders and the availability of treatment options. 

Saida completed a Bachelor’s in Social Work at West Chester University and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania.  Before returning to Penn, she worked as a clinician in both inpatient and outpatient settings for patients seeking medically assisted treatment for opioid use disorder.
