Molly Candon, PhD
Molly Candon, PhD is a research assistant professor of Psychiatry in the Penn Center for Mental Health, an adjunct professor of Health Care Management, and a senior fellow at the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics. Molly is an economist and health services researcher. Past projects have evaluated the effectiveness of insurance mandates for children’s autism and changes in access to primary care under the Affordable Care Act, while ongoing projects examine trends in off-label psychotropic prescribing, behavioral health integration, and non-opioid treatments for chronic pain. More broadly, Molly is interested in how patients with mental health and chronic pain conditions utilize care, how providers respond to payment models and information shocks, and how payers and health systems can incentivize the use of evidence-based, cost-effective practices.
