Research Interest

Our laboratory is interested in defining mechanisms governing establishment and maintenance of cellular identity. We focus on how 3D genome organization shapes organogenesis, particularly cardiac development. Our work seeks to define the rules regulating spatial positioning of the genome, and we focus on nuclear lamina-chromatin interactions.  In addition, our work focuses on understanding how changes in genome organization may underlie disease progression, specifically phenotypes observed in a class of diseases termed “laminopathies”. Laminopathies are often characterized by mutations in components of the nuclear lamina.
