Khoa Tran, Ph.D.Postdoctoral Researcher
My main interests involve understanding transcriptional regulation in the context of development and complex diseases. Specifically, I am fascinated by the crosstalk between metabolism and the epigenome in mediating specific transcriptional programs. My current and future research involves studying this interplay in the context of aging, senescence, and cellular reprogramming.
Alongside my research, I’m interested in science communication in hopes to bridge the gap between scientists and non-scientists. I am one of the co-founders of JKX comics (www.jkxcomics.com), a group involved in promoting scientific literacy, access, and exposure to a variety of STEM disciplines using comics. My current hopes are to utilize comics to explain new research in the field of epigenetics.
