Julia Winter

Postdoctoral Fellow

Julia received her PhD in molecular neurobiology from the University of Regensburg, Germany in 2019 under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Inga Neumann and Dr. Benjamin Jurek. During her PhD and the following postdoc phase, she focused on understanding molecular signaling cascades of the oxytocin receptor, including alternative splicing events, and their behavioral consequences. She is excited to join the Heller Lab in mid-2021 where she is interested in investigating regulatory mechanisms of Nr4a1 expression underlying cocaine addiction, with a focus on single nucleotide polymorphisms, aiming to develop therapeutic strategies. Outside of the lab, she enjoys cooking and exploring new restaurants, running, and playing classical music.
