The Geffen Laboratory at the University of Pennsylvania studies how we hear and how we form memories of sounds. RESEARCH We study the neuronal circuits for auditory perception and learning. Our research is supported by public agencies and private foundations. METHODS Our methods span the entire systems neuroscience toolbox, from two-photon Calcium imaging of neuronal activity to behavioral and computational approaches. PUBLICATIONS We recently identified a novel circuit for detecting unexpected sounds and built a computational model of the auditory cortex. NEWS You can learn more about our recent adventures. OUR PHILOSOPHY We commit to working towards an open and equitable environment. We denounce racism and discrimination in all forms and will work to provide opportunities to all scientists. OUR TEAM We are a group of energetic and dedicated scientists from across the globe, from physicists to psychologists. OPEN POSITIONS We are looking for energetic and talented team players.
